OIL OF LEMON EUCALYPTUS
Oil of lemon eucalyptus is produced from the distilled oil of the Eucalyptus citriodora tree. We are proud to partner with the Citriodiol® brand who's oil is sourced from a steam distillation process that minimizes waste and utilizes a closed-loop recycled water cycle. Powerful protection paired with sustainable sourcing makes oil of lemon eucalyptus a can't-get-any-better-than-this ingredient.
FAQs
I live in NY, why can't I add this product to my order?
At this time, we’re unable to ship this product directly to customers in New York. However, you can still find our spray at many great retailers across New York — use our store locator to find one near you.
Why don't we disclose the "other 70%" ingredients on our label?
The other 70% of ingredients are water and corn ethanol.
The original master label submitted for registration with the EPA does not list the inert ingredients, and because labeling is stringent, we cannot make a change until a label listing the inert ingredients is formally approved. However, we are able to state those ingredients on our website, which we do on the product page and with this FAQ.
Are there any age restrictions for this product?
In their most recent evaluation, the EPA found nothing that warranted an age restriction and so has removed any age restriction from 30% OLE (Citriodiol®) products, such as Murphy’s Naturals Lemon Eucalyptus Oil Mosquito & Tick Repellent Mist. This product is not registered by California for use on children under three.
Is this an aerosol product?
Our aluminum cans are filled with an inner bag that holds our Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus repellent which is surrounded with compressed air. That means that no chemical propellants are used to expel the Lemon Eucalyptus Oil formula from the bottle.
Is this safe on gear/fabrics?
Our spray is safe for outdoor gear and most fabrics. However, we do strongly recommend testing a small amount of product on an inconspicuous part of the fabric first just to be sure.
What insects does this repel?
Spray on your skin or gear to repel mosquitoes for up to six hours, deer ticks for up to four hours, and lone star and brown dog ticks for more than eight hours.
We do not currently have data on the efficacy of any other insects at this time and are unable to make any testing-backed claims.
Is this TSA-approved?
Our 2oz spray meets the TSA requirements for carry-on baggage, but we always suggest checking with the specific airline you are flying with as rules and regulations change often.
Is this the same repellent that comes in a spray bottle?
Sure is! This is the same effective mosquito and tick repellent that also comes in a 4oz or 2oz spray pump bottle, just packaged in an easy to use continuous mist application form.
First use tips:
First, turn the nozzle fully* to the left so that you see the grey nozzle. You may notice that the first time you push down on the nozzle there is some resistance. To break the small safety seal on the nozzle press down firmly and you will hear a faint click before the spray starts to emit. You will not see any spray come out until the seal is broken. When you are done, twist the nozzle to the right to lock.
*If the nozzle is not fully in the open position the spray will not be able to spray evenly and may result in the product to run down the side of the bottle.
