Murphy's Naturals exists to help people enjoy the outdoors—and to make sure the outdoors is worth enjoying. We do that through products that perform, practices that give back, and a genuine belief that business should be a force for good.

Honestly? We love bugs.
We're not anti-bug. We're pro-outside. The bees, the fireflies, the beetles doing their thing in the soil — they're all part of what makes outside worth being in. We even have five rooftop beehives. Because of course we do.
We hope so, but we'd rather show you than tell you.
We're a Certified B Corp and a 1% For the Planet member. Clean water for three communities in Africa. 20+ refugees hired. Thousands of volunteer hours given back. Profit is part of the plan. So is everything else..
A veteran. A belief that business should be a force for good. And a dog named Murphy.
Built from scratch in Raleigh, North Carolina—and still here, still doing it the same way.
We really do love bugs.
Yes, even the mosquitoes. (Okay—maybe we don’t LOVE the mosquitoes. But still.)
Here's the thing: we didn't start Murphy's Naturals because we hate bugs. We started it because we love outside. The long summer evenings. The backyard cookouts that stretch past dark. The camping trips and porch hangs and after-dinner walks with nowhere to be. Life is genuinely better when you're in it.
And bugs—most of them—are part of what makes that possible.
The bees doing the work that keeps our food supply intact. The fireflies that make a summer evening feel like something out of a dream. The beetles and the worms quietly doing their thing in the soil beneath your feet. We're not here to wage war on any of them. We're here to help you enjoy the outdoors without the nuisance of bites—and let everything else carry on exactly as it should.
That's why we have five rooftop beehives at our facility in Raleigh. It's why we partner with Triangle Land Conservancy to protect natural land, support the National Parks Conservation Association, and helped fund Carolina Tiger Rescue's International Tiger Day fundraiser two years running. It's why Celebrate Nature isn't just one of our four company values—it's the reason we exist.
When US Navy veteran Philip Freeman was building Murphy's Naturals, he was inspired by Anita Roddick—founder of The Body Shop and someone who believed business could and should be a force for good. That thinking didn't become a tagline. It became the backbone of how we operate.
We call it DOG: Doing Others Good.
People, planet, and profit—not as a trade-off, not as a ranking, but as a balance. The idea is simple: a business that only optimizes for one of those three isn't really doing its job.
We didn't become a Certified B Corp and a 1% For the Planet member to start living this way. We were already living it. Those designations simply validated it.
PEOPLE
We believe doing good starts with how you show up for one another. Our values—Respect One Another, Inspire Good, Celebrate Nature, and Have Fun—guide how we build our team and support the communities where we live and work.
PLANET
We make products that help people enjoy the outdoors—so protecting it isn't optional. It's the whole point.
- We also made meaningful packaging improvements as part of our 2024 rebrand: removing plastic windows, switching to clay desiccants, increasing recycled content, and eliminating unnecessary dyes. Small decisions. Real impact.
PROFIT
We believe profit should be created responsibly and shared with the people who help build it.
That means:
Built in Raleigh. Built for outside.
Philip Freeman, our founder and US Navy veteran, left military service with a clear sense of mission: business—done right—should be a force for good. He named the company after his dog, Murphy. A reminder that the best things in life are usually pretty simple. Time outside. Good company. Not too many mosquitoes.
We're based in Raleigh, North Carolina—deeply rooted in the Triangle community and committed to the people and places around us.
That commitment has a name: DOG—Doing Others Good. People, planet, and profit in balance. It's why we're a Certified B Corp and a 1% For the Planet member. Not for the label. Because it's how we've always operated.
The core hasn't changed since day one. Help people enjoy the outdoors. Do it with integrity. Leave things better than we found them.
That's the whole plan. We're pretty committed to it.
