Social Media and Content Coordinator

Job Summary:

Murphy’s Naturals is looking for a Content Coordinator to develop and manage content across multiple channels, including social media and email marketing. In this role, you’ll further develop the Murphy’s brand voice and copy guidelines, build engagement on key social media channels, and write and edit new outgoing marketing on a weekly basis. This role combines a passion for social media, storytelling via photo and video, and an understanding of trends and engaging content.

Ideal candidates are innovative, curious, self-motivated, can work both independently and collaboratively, and enjoy a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Social Media Marketing (80%)

  • Create, manage and execute social media calendar, driving brand discovery and customer engagement
  • Manage the execution of social media calendar and strategy across Instagram (feed and stories), Facebook and LinkedIn - including conceptualizing the idea, producing or identifying the resource to produce it, and writing supporting copy
  • Define Murphy’s entry/growth strategy in channels such as TikTok, Twitter and Pinterest
  • Own day-to-day social media activity including posting, commentary, reactive content, and full end-to end community management (DM’s, comments on Murphy’s posts, interaction on other accounts, etc.)
  • Work with PR agency to promote key press wins, identify and manage influencer opportunities, maintain relationships with content creators 
  • Collaborate with sales team to promote retailer stories and wins
  • Identify and report on KPI’s and insights to improve engagement across all social channels

Marketing Calendar Content (20%)

  • Coordinate with Brand Manager to outline monthly marketing calendar, incorporating promotions and product education
  • Write clear, detailed newsletter briefs for graphic designer to build engaging and creative content (2-3 newsletters/week)
  • Proofread and check visuals on all newsletters prior to sending
  • Act as the primary point of contact for PR agency, responding to press inquiries, evaluating influencer opportunities, and ensuring all press samples are sent in a timely manner
  • Ideate and write engaging long-form content (interviews, education, etc.) to be shared on company blog and incorporated throughout social media content calendar (2-3 pieces/month)
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of Murphy’s Naturals brand style, tone, and language, ensuring all internal and external communications are on-brand
  • Be a self-starting project manager, able to work on several projects at once, prioritize, and adhere to strict deadlines

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of social media marketing experience, including direct experience working on social media and digital strategy
  • Strong understanding of social media and the kind of content that drives engagement, as well as a pulse on trending topics, and how to grow a passionate community
  • Experience conceptualizing, giving guidance and executing shoots for daily/evergreen social in an on-going, fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to compile and analyze performance metrics to communicate wins, misses and opportunities to company leadership 
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices for web content is a plus (not required)

      • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and people development mindset
      • The ability to take constructive criticism in this role since their final work will have high exposure (both internally and externally)
      • A positive, “get it done” attitude

            Hours:

             Full-Time (40 hrs./week), Monday through Friday, occasional weekend support
