Murphy’s Moments

At Murphy’s Naturals, our mission is to celebrate nature and inspire good through quality natural products. Cultivating relationships with those who support our mission is at the heart of what we do.

Each of these Murphy’s Naturals ambassadors has an impactful story to tell, with a shared vision for a healthier planet and community. Follow along as we capture their stories and share them with you in our new series, ‘Murphy’s Moments’.

Meet Leigh-Kathryn Bonner

As a fourth generation beekeeper, Leigh-Kathryn Bonner grew up with a special appreciation for nature. While attending college, she asked her landlord if she could keep honeybee hives at her apartment. When the answer was “no” she turned to American Tobacco Campus, also the location of the world headquarters of Burt’s Bees, where she was interning. The three hives she placed on the roof of that building attracted local media, which led to other companies asking to bring bees to their own campuses. As a result, Bee Downtown was born.

As companies like Delta Air Lines, AT&T, Met-Life, Cisco and Murphy’s Naturals started adding hives to their campuses, employees were eager to learn and experience more about these extraordinary insects. From the excitement Bee Downtown found its sweet spot — creating experiences like hive tours, honey extractions, beekeeping classes and so much more.

Meet Captain Seth

Growing up spending early mornings in the rice fields and marshes of Texas, Seth learned from an early age to appreciate the outdoors.

“The reason that the outdoors are so important to me is we’re supposed to be the stewards, we’re supposed to be the ones that leave it better than we found it. For me, a huge part of enjoying life outdoors is knowing that we are being responsible for the resources that offer us so much in return.”

Now a seasoned fishing guide, Captain Seth shares his love for the water with each person who steps on his boat. Follow along with @CaptSeth’s adventures as he guides clients and enjoys life along the Cape Fear Coast of NC.
