ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Opportunity:

We are looking for a talented and committed accounting guru to join our growing team. Candidates
should have 5+ years of accounting work experience with an operating company, ideally with a
manufacturing element. This person must be a self-starter, possess outstanding attention to detail and organization skills, buy into our company’s mission and values, and be willing to make the commitment necessary to lead a team that helps shape the company’s financial infrastructure and internal controls.

Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting function for the company, including developing and implementing accounting and internal control policies and processes, and ensuring compliance with tax authorities. The Account Manager will be responsible for preparing monthly financial reports, accrual entries, and account reconciliations as part of a three-member accounting team. They will also have responsibility for maintaining accounting systems and related integrations with other systems critical to the company’s operations. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will support the Vice President of Finance in developing budgets, analyzing investment and cost-saving opportunities, and assessing and implementing internal control processes and procedures.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Maintain the general ledger and perform general cost accounting
    • Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements on a timely basis
    • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures consistent with industry best practices
    • Prepare regular and ad-hoc financial reports for management, Board of Directors, and other
      stakeholders
    • Coordinate invoice coding, new account set up, accounting reconciliation, and monthly close in collaboration with three-member accounting team
    • Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
    • File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
    • Support the company’s banking relationships, including producing required monthly reports
    • Coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommend updates to enhance the accounting software
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Education & Experience:

    • Certified Public Accountant
    • 5+ years experience in accounting role with an operating company
    • Strong command of generally accepted accounting principles and cost accounting
    • Strong Microsoft Excel modeling capabilities
    • QuickBooks Enterprise experience a plus
    • Purchasing and/or inventory control experience a plus

          Hours: 

          Full-Time (40 hrs./week), Monday through Friday
